The COMMUNITY HUB by WEB EXPRESS is a truly a unique “HUB” for readers and advertisers to discover the plethora of diverse ethnic and multi-cultural media. One can click on the covers of the publications to open an actual “flip-page” publication that can be browsed by “turning” the pages. Back issues will also be available.
We will build out this community hub offering it free to the ethnic community newspapers hit hardest by the crisis during this difficult time then add in community centre guides, industry and association publications and specialty magazines.
Why?
Web Express’s Social Purpose is to Empower Liberty, Democracy and Community through Freedom of Expression. We have for over 2 decades dreamed of a way to add conductivity between these multicultural and unique communities but neither the catalyst nor the urgency to make it happen were there… until this crisis struck. And now it is not only a matter of creating this dream for the love of community and connection BUT it is a matter of survival for these small publications, and ourselves as well!
When we first worked with the Social Purpose Institute to articulate our social purpose, one of the questions we we asked to ponder was “what would happen if Web Express no longer existed.” What a surprise, only a short time later, to be standing at the precipice of the chasm and ACTUALLY facing the reality of that question.
